The Joaquim Venâncio Polytechnic School of Health (Escola Politécnica de Saúde Joaquim Venâncio - EPSJV/Fiocruz) was established in August 1985. The EPSJV/Fiocruz 's main objectives are: to coordinate and implement educational programs in strategic areas for Public Health and Science and Technology in Health; develop proposals to support the definition of policies for health professional education and undergraduate research for health; formulate proposals for curricula, courses, methodologies and educational materials, and produce and disseminate knowledge in the areas of Labor, Education and Health Collaborating Center of the World Health Organisation for the Education of Health Technicians, EPSJV/Fiocruz currently works as Executive Secretary of the RETS .
The EPSJV/Fiocruz edits the journal Work, Education and Health and serves as Executive Secretary of a Virtual Library on Health Professional Education (VHL-EPS), developed by the School itself. Sedia still Workstation Observatory Health Technicians, which integrates Observatory Network Human Resources in Health, created by the Ministry of Health and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) as a space for the production and analysis of information and knowledge this area. The School also invests in the training of teachers critical that the educational segment, developing a master's degree and a post-graduation courses in Health Professional Education.
