Interculturality in health is the theme of RETS 1st Webinar
On May 20, at 9:30 am (Eastern Time), The International Network of Health Technicians Education (RETS) is holding the 1st Network’s Webinar on “The intercultural perspective in Health Technical Training”.
The event presented by teacher-researcher Ana Lucia Pontes* will take place in the Auditorium Joaquim Alberto Cardoso de Melo, the Joaquim Venâncio Health Polytechnic School (EPSJV/Fiocruz), and will be broadcasted online in Spanish and Portuguese (click here). The targeted audience encompasses researchers, students and professionals in the field of health sciences.
The seminar aims to reflect on the reorganization of primary health care from technical training projects that highlight the challenges and interculturality opportunities in health. “We shall take stock of indigenous health workers professional experiences in the Brazilian Amazon region and international cooperation activities in Bolivia and Angola”, said Ana Lucia, who coordinated EPSJV’s Indigenous Community Health Agent Technical Course.
Given the approval of RETS Work Plans (2014 -2017), RETS-UNASUR (2014-2015) and RETS-CPLP (2014-2017), a series of seminars that will be offered by the Network during 2015 seeks to increase the participation of health technical training institutions in debates on priority issues through the use of new technologies, ensuring greater coordination and cooperation among Network members to boost the development of research that can influence national professional education and public policymaking.
