Second Call for Projects and Initiatives for Triangular Cooperation between Ibero-America and the PALOP

The Government of the Portuguese Republic and the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB) have launched this second call. Applications will be accepted from April 6 to June 1, 2026.

This second call will have a budget of one million euros, provided by Camões – Institute for Cooperation and Language, I.P, and will be managed by SEGIB over a two-year period (2026–2028).

Projects and initiatives must include at least one Portuguese partner, one Latin American partner, and one partner from a Portuguese-speaking African country.

In this edition, eligible thematic areas for proposal submission include: Education; Health; Climate Change; Food Security; Digital Transformation; and Economic Development. Gender and Bilingualism (Spanish and Portuguese) should be considered cross-cutting themes in all proposals.

Projects and initiatives should focus on the following activities:

Generation and dissemination of knowledge: research, reports, forums/congresses through collaborative work among proposal members, developing studies, producing tools, and building knowledge in their specific sector.
Promotion of training activities: involving the transfer of knowledge and experience, such as workshops, mentoring sessions, short courses, webinars, and interactive seminars.

Selected projects or initiatives will receive funding of up to 85% of the total budget, provided that the total budget is at least €50,000 and does not exceed €200,000.

The deadline for submitting proposals, which may be in Spanish or Portuguese, is June 1, 2026, at 11:59 PM, according to the official time in Madrid, Spain (CEST).

This new call follows the renewal, on February 5, of the Triangular Cooperation Fund between Portugal, Latin America, and Africa, originally established on July 7, 2023, by the Government of the Portuguese Republic and SEGIB.
