Health Situation in the Americas, Core Indicators 2018

Review / Summary: 

This 2018 edition includes data on the 82 core indicators for the countries, territories, and sub-regions of the Americas, grouped into the following categories: demographic-socioeconomic, health status, risk factors, service coverage, and health systems. Information is also presented on 22 indicators of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). When used as part of a monitoring and evaluation process, indicators are an essential element in the production of evidence in health to inform decision-making. With the continuing advances in technology, data collection has become more frequent and timely, making monitoring and follow-up possible on a routine basis at the global, regional, subregional, national, and subnational levels.
