The institution offers technical courses in nursing, radiology, clinical analysis and stomatology and, this year, there is physiotherapy in its program. Currently there are 355 vacancies, of which 225 are for the county seat of the province and another 130 for Cubal, located 150 km east of the city of Benguela. The homologous school located in the municipality of Cubal meets professionals of Ganda, Caimbambo and Chongoroi.  

Admission in the courses is through the entrance examination in general knowledge, Portuguese language, biology and chemistry. The EFTS, former Middle Institute of Health of Benguela (Instituto Médio de Saúde - IMS), has 90 teachers.
