Resenha / Resumo:
In the context of the Public Health Emergency of International Concern due to neurological complications and possible link with Zika virus infection declared by WHO on 1st February 2016, WHO convened an ad-hoc advisory group to review the evidence on effectiveness of aircraft disinsection to prevent the international spread of mosquito-borne disease, including Zika.
The group discussed three questions related to the effectiveness of aircraft disinsection for controlling the international spread of vector-borne diseases, the challenges of current methods and products for aircraft disinsection, and the gaps in knowledge and future research needs.
